Welcome to the West Midlands Model Flying Club.

Whether you are looking for a new club to join, are in the area and would like to visit our club or just enjoy checking out club web sites to see what is going on we hope you enjoy your visit to our site.

WMMFC was formed about 7 years ago as an off shoot of one of the very first pure Radio Controlled Model Flying clubs, the Kinver Aeronaughts Radio Control Society which was formed in around 1966.  Indeed many KARCS members remain with us and still fly with us to this date, so we have quite some history and experience..

We fly all types of radio controlled models both fixed wing and helicopter, ic and electric powered though as yet no jet turbines.

We are situated in a very secluded farm field just south of the village of Marston, near Wheaton Aston in Staffordshire off the A5. Further details can be found on the 'find us here' page of the web site.  If you wish to visit we would ask that you to contact our club secretary or a club member to ensure a member will be present to greet you when you arrive.

Our site has a very good closely mowed 103m grass runway and a smaller 85m runway cross cut at 90 degrees. We have a large portacabin clubhouse with heating and cooking facilities and also a substantial metal clad lean to with concrete base which acts as transmitter control and model maintenance area. You can even fly from inside the lean to if it starts to rain leaving only your model to get wet.

We have long flying hours from 10am until 8pm every day however we do insist on silent / electric flight late evening, and late Sunday afternoons.

We do from time to time organize open days where we invite anyone to attend, sample the site and hopefully get a fly of the club trainer if you do not yet have a model of your own to fly. Please check out our 'events, news and views' page.

We are a British Model Flying Association affiliated club and follow their safety guidelines and codes of practice.  We also require flyers to have been awarded the BMFA "A" certificate of achievement before they are allowed to fly unsupervised.  We do have BMFA qualified instructors who will teach members to fly free of charge and examiners who can guide you to achieve the BMFA achievement scheme awards for fixed and rotary wing.  Click on the BMFA logo at the top of the page to be directed to their web page for more details regarding achieving the achievement awards and the BMFA in general.  You will also find details regarding their insurance scheme especially designed for radio control flying.

Please check out our photo page and our video page as we hope to update these pages from time to time with new pictures and aerial video as they become available.

Hope you like the web site and we wish you happy landings and have great fun following the hobby!!
