Membership
Our membership is approximately 54 at present. An ideal membership would be approximately 60 so we have only a few spaces. If you are therefore thinking of joining remaining numbers are limited.
Annual membership fees are:
£55 per adult
£30 per child (under 16 years old)
There is a one off joining fee of £25 per person.
The club has the policy, as all good flying clubs do, where all members need to be covered by BMFA insurance in order to participate in flying at the club.
All fees are payable at the AGM in early December or by 31st December of that year at the latest.
People joining in any part of the year excluding December will be asked to pay the full joining fee but a proportion of the membership fee for the remainder of the year until the annual renewal date.
Existing members or future members can also combine their BMFA membership with their club fees so as to get all the financial commitment out of the way in one go.
Whether paying your BMFA membership though the club or not, WMMFC will require to see your BMFA Insurance certificate in order to fly. If arranged through the club your BMFA Insurance certificate will be available for collection once processed. The club treasurer will advise you accordingly.
Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to: WMMFC. Alternatively we can provide bank details to transfer payments electronically.
The committee reserves the right to refuse membership or cancel membership if any person is not prepared to continue the best intentions of the club or abuses its facilities or puts the interests of the club in jeopardy.
Membership Flight Modes
The predominant mode of flight at the club is mode 1. However, we do have a few members who are mode 2. We have instructors and examiners appropriate to both modes. If you are new to flying you will be advised as to the pros and cons of each mode but the ultimate choice is yours.
Indoor Flying
Members can take advantage of an indoor flying facility. However, it is not provided as a facility by WMMFC and club membership fees do NOT include membership to this facility. Additional fees are required to be paid by the organiser of the indoor flying club. Details will be supplied upon joining WMMFC.
